EXPERIENCE

Dec 2023- Feb 2024

Graduate Research Assistant, Photonic lab, UTM Johor, Malaysia

• Design a miniaturized bend sensor compatible with the physical constraints of the optical fiber.
• Select and characterize a special type of optical fiber suitable for the application.
• Define a sensing mechanism based on variations in light propagation properties during bending.
• Fabricate the miniaturized sensor and integrate it onto the selected optical fiber.

Aug 2023-Nov2023

Radio Service Engineer Intern, Banglalink

As a Radio Service Engineer Intern at Banglalink in Dhaka, Bangladesh, I have gained valuable experience in all aspects of radio network management and optimization. I have monitored, analyzed, and optimized network KPIs to ensure top-tier Quality of Service (QoS) across all network technologies, including 2G, 3G, and 4G. I have also planned and established new sites to enhance network coverage based on market needs and traffic demand. Additionally, I have configured and adjusted network hardware and software setups to ensure consistent and superior network service. I have also managed network capacity and ensured high-quality service during large events, in areas with signal issues, and in high-traffic zones. Furthermore, I have successfully deployed and configured LTE and GSM networks, facilitated the introduction, testing, and rollout of various features to improve overall network health and performance KPIs, and conducted thorough data analysis, including Drive Test (DT) logs, to diagnose and address network challenges. I have also successfully performed drive tests and walk tests to collect RF data for RAN optimization.

Nov 2022 — Jul 2023

Research Assistant, Photonic lab, UTM

During my tenure as a Research Assistant at the Photonic Lab, University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, I engaged in extensive research focused on coexistence strategies within the context of next-generation passive optical networks (PONs). This research encompassed a comprehensive examination of GPON, NGPON1, and NGPON2 technologies and their harmonious coexistence. My work involved a combination of hardware and software configurations.

To facilitate this research, I employed OptiSystem software for system modeling, allowing for continuous monitoring of vital performance metrics such as Bit Error Rate (BER), Q factor, and splitting ratio. This meticulous monitoring was essential to ensure the security and operational integrity of the network, which is crucial in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Throughout my research, I encountered various challenges related to the seamless integration of these optical network technologies. My role included identifying these challenges and devising innovative solutions to enable the provision of high-speed internet services while upholding network performance at the highest standard.

The culmination of my research efforts was encapsulated in my thesis titled "Physical Layer Study on Coexistence of Passive Optical Network," which serves as a testament to the depth and breadth of my contributions in this field.

JUNE 2022-OCTOBER 2022

IX TELECOM , Cyberjaya, Malaysia

Network Operation Center Intern

During my internship at IX Telecom Malaysia, I had the opportunity to engage in a multifaceted role where I played a crucial part in ensuring seamless communication and network operations. This experience involved direct interaction with customers via phone, email, and in-person interactions, where I provided valuable information and assistance. Additionally, I was responsible for streamlining data management by meticulously sorting and organizing files, spreadsheets, and reports. My role also entailed conducting research, compiling data, and producing timely reports to facilitate decision-making processes. Collaborating within teams, I had the chance to analyze complex problems and contribute to the development of effective solutions. Furthermore, I actively monitored network equipment for both local and global clients using specialized tools like Solar Winds NPM and Nagios, ensuring optimal network performance. My communication skills were put to the test as I liaised with customers and providers through email and telephone communication, and I also took on Level 1 troubleshooting of network issues. This internship experience not only honed my technical skills but also enhanced my ability to work effectively in a collaborative and customer-centric environment.
